Cliff Berry, Inc. is hiring a Class A Roll-Off/Tractor-Trailer Driver for our Miami Location. The ideal candidate will drive a truck or van with a GVWR of 26,001 lbs. or more OR a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more, towing trailers/vehicles rated at 10,000 pounds GVWR primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise or to deliver materials within a specified area. May require use of automatic routing or location software. Load and unload vehicles as required. Move roll-off boxes, dump trailer, and dry vans of cargo across company locations and to disposal facilities. All drivers are members of CBI’s emergency response team and are subject to working nights, weekends and holidays while on-call or in an emergency response.
This role primarily involves driving to designated landfills to offload waste materials collected from the plant, ensuring safe and compliant waste disposal. Additionally, the driver may assist with oil delivery runs as needed, supporting the team in the timely and efficient transport of oil to specified locations. Daily tasks require strict adherence to safety protocols, handling hazardous materials responsibly, and maintaining open communication with dispatch for smooth operations.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Maneuver tractor and trailers into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned
- Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes
- Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous products; oil, gas, or other equipment
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
- Check the truck to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption
- Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the tractor and/or trailer
- Secure equipment for transport, using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers
- Obtain receipts, payment or signatures for services when required
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs
- Inspect the load before and after to determine the physical condition
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned
- Class A CDL with HAZMAT and TANKER Endorsements (required)
- Minimum of two years of commercial driving experience (preferred)
- Experience with roll-off and dump trailers (required)
- Tanker experience transporting gas and/or oil
- Heavy haul experience with oil or gasoline transport (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card within 60 days of hire
- Ability to secure HAZMAT certification within 30 days

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop or walk in the performance of essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The employee should test in the acceptable range for vision, hearing, and respiratory functions.
Specific physical requirements include the following:
- Ability to lift 100 pounds on a consistent daily basis
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for a minimum of 4 hours while conducting regular work duties
