Cliff Berry, Inc. is currently seeking an Oil Recycling Operator for our Miami facility. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and treating incoming oil products, maintaining tank operations, monitoring product levels, operating thermal equipment, and ensuring quality standards are met for finished materials.


Key Responsibilities

  • Heat cooker tanks to specified temperatures under supervisory direction
  • Record and track stack and thermal readings for cooker tanks
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate product levels within tanks
  • Transfer materials between tanks as directed, ensuring proper level control
  • Operate the Gencor thermal heater within established operating limits
  • Add treatment chemicals in correct quantities as instructed
  • Collect samples from cooker tanks and perform bench-scale testing
  • Remove water from cooker tanks and transfer it to designated treatment systems
  • Conduct moisture content analysis on oil products
  • Recirculate oil within cooker tanks as required
  • Transfer processed oil to finished product storage tanks
  • Monitor strainers during product loading operations
  • Perform quality control sampling from tanker trucks or railcars after loading
  • Complete QA/QC procedures to ensure data accuracy and product integrity
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintain associated documentation
  • Record volumes of finished product loaded for shipment
  • Perform water content testing as directed
  • Carry out monthly inspection and cleaning of the Gencor thermal heater
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including painting as needed
  • Observe equipment performance and report any issues promptly

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic understanding of petrochemical processing principles preferred

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of petrochemical processes and industry practices
  • Mechanical aptitude with systems such as hydraulics, pumps, piping, and thermal fluid heaters
  • Familiarity with sampling methods, analytical testing, and data recording
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance and operational procedures
  • Strong awareness of safety practices related to fuel handling and industrial environments
  • Ability to perform fluid transfer operations efficiently
  • Experience with sample preparation and laboratory-style testing
  • Capability to conduct product quality checks
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with a diverse workforce
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals and analytical procedures

Work Environment

This role involves working in industrial and outdoor conditions, which may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and various chemicals. The position may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA standards. Tasks may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or in varying weather conditions, along with exposure to noise, dust, and other physical elements.
